It’s the combination of working a lot, having too many assignments and wanting to spend my free time with people I like. So, just like old friends catching up.. I want to bring you all up to date with what’s going on in my life so far!

SO, how can I even been to start explaining how crazy 2013 has been so far for me!?
I think the easiest way to describe it would be ..that I’ve been purging all the negative aspects from life and holding on to the positives (because why should you have it any other way?!) BUT, let’s start with ..I finally quit my previous job. I was so unhappy there and dreaded going to work every Saturday morning (working on the weekend is terrible fyi) ..but after a little push, I finally threw the towel in with nothing else lined up (and that was also the week I spent $390 on my hair lolol ..great money management Melody!!) BUT, as they say ..when one door closes …another door opens ..and so it did !

Just a week after quitting (and 3 days after my final shift) ..I got a call saying I was hired at a new place!!
I’ve been working at this new place for about a month now and I definitely love it. Whilst, it’s 3 days a week and a lot more hard work .. I’m incredibly happy with the people, the environment and overall, the entire job!!

I’m sure most of you have gathered from the previous post that I’m also with someone now ♥
I’m not going to get all sappy and story-time on you guys (lest I die from embarrassment) but I’m really happy. He’s been one of my best friends for awhile now so it’s pretty amazing to be with someone who you get along so well with already.

Apart from all these exciting things happening, I’ve also been coming out of my shell!!
I’ve met a whole lot of new people, tried a bunch of new things and stepped out of my comfort zone a few times. I’ve always been quite a bit of a shy one, so overcoming all these tiny fears within me has been quite an accomplishment!!

So yes, that’s pretty much how my life has been going so far.
It’s quite different and my world did turn upside down quite quickly ..but I’m pretty happy!!

I’ve been quite busy the past few weeks with assessments, work and …life ;^; ! But yes, there’s been so much happening in my life lately; one huge thing in particular that many of you would already know would be that I dyed my hair a red-purple about a month ago. I went to a Korean salon advised by THIS guy (WHY WOULD I TRUST A WHITE MAN?!)

So yes, the above photo is the wonderful result of our FOUR HOURS in the salon (mainly mine though seriously)
We both underestimated how long we’d actually be in there …or really, how long my hair would take. So, for reference sake, I’ve included our not so wonderful  pre-magical hair transformation photo below! (I really needed a hair cut)

Ash also decided to get his hair dyed because well, WHY NOT? And he had never done it before.

Anyway, at this point, we explained what we both wanted to our amazing hair dresser.
Whilst Ashley’s intended hair was going to be super easy to do (stupid white man and his ability to not need bleach) and wouldn’t cost that much ….I wasn’t that lucky. What I wanted would take at least 3 bleaching attempts,  numerous hours and ..would total up to $490. I freaked out obviously. Thankfully, we managed to cut it down to $390 after agreeing on only 2 bleaches and cutting out some things. This was still expensive but I felt the need to splurge?? ;^;

Oh I should mention that I had NEVER bleached my hair before so …that was definitely an experience!!
Below are the progression shots of my hair over FOUR hours (Idek how Ash managed to stay sane for that long)

Here goes the first bleaching attempt ..and some strange looking contraption ..that ..serves …a purpose I don’t know.

I’m fairly sure this is after ..the second bleach? I’m not too sure but ..omgahhh so orange! I was so excited when they finally started putting the colour in my hair by the way. IT TOOK HOURS TO GET TO THIS POINT and I was progressively getting frustrated at having to get my hair washed constantly haha (Ash woulda been done by this point)

If you can see in the first photo above, Ashley is having fun waiting for me ….whilst playing on his slowly dying phone hahahahaha. But yesss, waiting for that many hours was a feat even for me ..so kudos to him!! ♥ But I was so excited when they finally started styling my hair!! After those many treacherous hours of sitting ..waiting ..getting my hair washed ..and then having my head put in to strange looking machines … I was finally doneee! ヽ(･∀･)ﾉ

But yes omgah, I was so happy with how my hair turned out (and yes, Ashley’s too) !!! ♥
SO HAPPY, that I included another photo of us ..although with Ash looking away bwahahah. But seriously, look at dem curls. I have yet to be able to recreate this look … but ..at least I have forever captured this moment on camera!

Since the whole hair dying experience was a first for both of us a in away, we decided to celebrate by going to a bar and getting a drink (which by the way was a first for me too – since I don’t usually drink alcohol)

But I actually had a really good day with Ash, despite staying at the salon for four freaking hours!
Oh, and I bet you’re all wondering how our hairs have turned out a month later… and well, the purple in my hair … WASN’T THE BEST CHOICE. It pretty much faded within a week! I struggled with maintaing the red in my hair, so using a red dye shampoo removed the purple quicker. Ashley, obviously HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH HIS HAIR (damn his genes). His now looks like a  nice auburn colour ..while mine is continuously trying to turn orange >:|

Lesson: Ombre is hard to freaking maintain ..and splurging $390 on your hair is a bit insane.

As I’ve said countless of times in the past, I’ve always found it hard to meet people I’ve never communicated with properly before. But nevertheless, when an opportunity such as this appears, it is better to grasp it rather than let it slip away. In any case, I believe I made an excellent choice in choosing to meet with up with these wonderful girls!

Something I’ve actually noticed is how the act of camwhoring creates bonds with people.
By that I mean, silly photos and crazy faces are a good way to break down some inhibitions. Well at least, that’s how it is with me. It’s probably the fact that both people would be embarrassing themselves in public (rather than just me)

Anyway, these girls are incredibly sweet and I had a wonderful time meeting them!
Makes me think that I should actually start travelling and meeting you guys instead of waiting for you all to come to Melbourne haha. Wonder where I should head off to first though hmm? Give me some suggestions ! :D

Hello! I know you heard quite about the awesome Intel Ultrabook already…
But  I just wanted to add a little bit more on my experience of using it. Considering, I believe I mentioned how different it was for me since I usually use my desktop or iPad for all things computer related ..and this was both of them in one ♥ !

But yes, as you can see it’s ability for it to switch between a tablet and a laptop makes it easy for it to use it in different settings. Plus the fact that it’s really light-weight makes it even more convenient for it to be taken to Uni and alike. But okay, I lie. I didn’t use it for anything study related, but rather just watched TV shows and movies on it in bed hehe. And thankfully the battery life lasts for ages (approx 3 movies worth) unplugged so it’s perfect for lying in bed.

Anyway, I actually love using the touch screen whilst actually typing at the same time.
I mean, the keyboard has an excellent mouse ball touch option but it’s so awesome being able to type …and then using the touch screen to scroll down or click a new tab instead of having to use the mouse to do all that work.

But yes, I did have quite a bit of fun with this Ultrabook and would definitely love it again ;)

Would you use it in it’s laptop mode? Or tablet mode?

I’ve actually been quite busy for the past week or so with University classes and having a social life. But it’s been good! It’s good being able to get out of the house and trying out new things with some pretty awesome friends ♥

But despite being incredibly busy, I managed to take a few photos of these amazing lenses that mukuChu sent just before I went out for dinner. These lenses are a simple brown but the colour is so much softer and lighter than others! You can also see that they’ve got some sort of swirly effect to them – making them ..less blocky than some other ones I’ve had. ♥

Review: Cafe Mimi Macchiato Brown

Colour: ♥♥♥♥♥ – I really like this brown! It’s so .. different? And it’s still quite noticeable!
Design: ♥♥♥♥♡ – As you can see, they’ve got a swirly effect that creates a nice blend *_*
Comfort: ♥♥♥♥♡ – I wore them for about 6 hours and they felt perfectly fine!! (read belowww)
Enlargement: ♥♥♥♥♥ – Well. These are 15.0 and they are definitely quite enlarging!!!
Overall: ♥♥♥♥♡ – I actually think these are quite nice if you’re after all these qualities *___* !!

Okay! So for those who have me on twitter, would’ve seen this. But the one problem I did have with these lenses were that they were realllllly soft. And whilst that’s an awesome thing, it made it much harder to put in my eye than usual :/ I’m not sure if that was just me ..but yeah. Otherwise though, I actually think these lenses are perfect for a dolly eye look!

Actually, if you don’t mind the 15.0mm, you could totally wear these out for a natural look too !
(Also here’s a huge bonus point. I really like the name of these lenses haha!!)

Hello wonderful people! Today, I have something pretty exciting to share and review with you!
As some of you may have seen from my tweets / instagram, I’ve had the amazing opportunity to play with an Intel Ultrabook Convertible for the past week :) I was incredibly excited to be able to try this out as I’ve never had anything like it. For reference, I normally blog using my desktop but frequently use my laptop, iPad and iPhone to access social media.

This Intel Ultrabook Convertible is pretty much what has been taking up my time this entire week hehe.
I don’t have Windows 8 on any of my actual products so it was fun to play around with a new system!! Plus, having an Intel Core i5 and HD graphics made it an awesome time consuming product to review hehe.

Now, the super amazing thing about this Ultrabook is that ..it’s a laptop and a tablet in one.
I’ve actually always liked the thought of this concept! Sometimes you need to use the touch screen for games or drawing (stylus!), but other times ..you really just want to use a physical keyboard for typing ease!! *_*

But yes, as you can see, using this Ultrabook instead of my desktop was definitely an experience. The ability to just carry this around with you anywhere was great. In fact, I’m probably going to continue typing this blog post ..in bed!! Which is actually pretty awesome, since I’m normally sitting at my desk typing these blog posts (usually at 3am) ..so being able to type at ease in bed is really useful. (I’m not a fan of typing long posts with touch screen ..so yay for keyboard!)

It’s actually really light too so it made holding it in bed much easier (compared to using my laptop at least)
I also decided to let my mum and brother both give it a go to see what they did with it. My brother immediately put it in its portrait tablet mode to start reading his lectures (and later forums haha) whilst my mum used it in its laptop mode (to stand) to watch stuff on youtube while she cooked dinner haha. Definitely was good versatility!

I actually really enjoyed using this Ultrabook ..and with it’s 7 second start up, it’s easy to use anywhere!

Anyway, about a month ago, I had the opportunity to meet the man behind Asian Impressions and organise a quick photoshoot whilst he was in Melbourne. Now, I’ve never done any sort of fashion photoshoot before (all my photos are taken by Vu or myself :/) so I was …very nervous!  So, this was definitely out of my comfort zone. But, I knew that I would regret it if I turned down the offer ..so I decided to go for it despite all of my uncertainties and doubts *_* !

Whilst I’m sure that I could’ve been a much better model, I’m quite happy with how some of the photos turned out! There are a lot more than the ones posted here, but they’re not all edited and I feel like my own edits wouldn’t live up to these!!

But yes, apart from confirming that I’m a pretty socially awkward penguin, I learnt that it’s good to take a hold of opportunities when you can. Sometimes you only get one chance to do something, so don’t hold back! There’s nothing wrong with being afraid of the unknown, but we shouldn’t let our fear dictate and restrict the way we want to lives.

And as per tradition, I dressed up again! (See 2011, 2012) I decided to wear the same shirt as last year as it’s still much better than all the others I own!! Also, as I always believe in putting 100% when you’re taking some nice photos, I decided to wear my new contacts given to me kindly by mukuChu! Along with some CNY photos, I’ll be reviewing them in this post!

(Isn’t that cute little lantern a nice touch to this whole Chinese New Year post hehe)

Review: Geo Cafe Mimi Waffle Grey

Colour: ♥♥♥♡♡ – They’re grey but there’s a bit of brown in them which I like! But the colour doesn’t show up that well.
Design: ♥♥♥♡♡ - It’s 2 toned which is cool! And that black ring is humongous ..but quite normal?
Comfort: ♥♥♥♥♡ – Felt perfectly fine after a couple of blinks of adjustment!
Enlargement: ♥♥♥♥♥ – They’re 15.0 ..and those black rings are gigantically huge. So yes.
Overall: ♥♥♥♥♡ - They’re actually quite pretty but the colour is really dark …  :(

I think these lenses are fantastic but they’re actually quite noticeably big ..especially with that really fat black ring around it. I would definitely wear this out when I want to be more dolly and kira kira ..but definitely not as an everyday look!

It was incredibly hot on this day so wearing this high collar top with all that make up nearly made me melt in to a puddle of my own sweat. Thank goodness for the existence of air-conditioners because I seriously would not be able to survive if it was not for that!! Haha. But anyway, yes. These are probably my new lenses for when I want to do some cutesy looks without having much colour in my eyes!! Definitely liking that this is now settled nicely in my collection of contact lenses :)

Anyway, I really do hope everyone has an excellent Lunar New Year filled with yummy food!
I’m not sure what plans I have on yet apart from attending a couple of festivals! I’ll be at the Japanese Festival at Docklands tomorrow (wearing normal clothes this time around hehe) so do say ‘Hello!’ if you happen to see me!!
