Ash and I celebrated our 4 years earlier this year and to commemorate this special day, we went GLAMPING!
For those of you who are unfamiliar with the term, ‘GLAMPING‘ is as defined by Urban Dictionary, “glamorous camping. Satisfying your craving for the outdoors and your penchant for a good meal, nice glass of wine, and a comfortable bed.”
Translation: We had a bed in an air-conditioned tent on a roof top in the CBD
We stayed at St Jerome’s, which is located on the top level of Melbourne Central, and it was a delightful experience. Our Luxe tent was fitted with a working air-conditioner (thank goodness, since it was boiling that day), comfy double bed, a stocked esky, nuts, slippers, robes, as well as an in-tent dining service which was accessible through texting the reception (very handy for lazy, anti-social people such as myself!). We also received a complimentary sweet treat and cocktail each from the General Trader store (which, by the way, are more than happy to help you get anything you need!)
Ashley also surprised me with some gorgeous flowers, which St Jerome’s helped pick out!
Later that evening, as part of our stay at St Jerome’s, we received our tablet pre-stocked with movies, sleep time tea by T2, and Gelato Messina custom made ice cream delivered straight to our tent! It was definitely a very pleasant way to end our evening, as we sipped tea and ate ice cream in bed while watching a movie.
We also made use of their sauna service (..despite the heat) and while I probably only lasted like a total of 10 minutes, Ash managed to stay for our whole booking of the sauna hahaha.
Again, as part of the package, we got breakfast delivered straight to our tent the following morning!
The breakfast delivered included a coffee of our liking each, as well as two baguettes, muesli, fruit, yoghurt, milk, T2 peach tea and organe juice! It was definitely a delicious and convenient way to wake up.
I seriously could get used to breakfast delivery every day hmmmm….
Many of my colleagues thought I was being crazy, spending so much money just to stay in pretty much a hotel room that was a size of a tent. But hey, it was a unique experience and I actually really enjoyed it!
